Participants in this level of care will spend time living in a stable, structured environment where they can practice coping skills and self-efficacy and connect to the community, including work, education, and family systems. Low-intensity 3.1 services are provided in a 24-hour monitored residential environment.

Both clinical services and community-based recovery services are provided. Level 3.1 requires at least 5 hours of low-intensity treatment services per week, including medication management, recovery skills, relapse prevention, and other similar services.

In Level 3.1, 5 or more hours of clinical services may be provided onsite or in collaboration with the Outpatient Services Program. A team of credentialed medical, addiction, and mental health professionals offers clinical services.

This level of care is designed to improve the participants’ ability to structure and organize the tasks of daily living, stabilize, and maintain the stability of the individual’s substance use disorder symptoms, and help them develop and apply recovery skills.

The skilled treatment services include individual, group, and family therapy; medication management and education; mental health treatment; motivational support and engagement strategies; recovery support services; counseling and clinical monitoring; MAT; intensive case management; and psychotherapy for individuals with co-occurring mental illness.

Participant Benefits

The Level 3.1 program appropriately addresses participants’ needs regarding employment or education, reintegration into the family, and better health and nutrition practices. Activities that educate, inform, and build skills in these areas directly benefit the participant.
